If you are happy to go to some exotic location for your next holiday, it will be a good idea to invest a little while in order to ensure that you have your bases covered.

Please follow this checklist to make sure your finances are right, you have packaged properly and your travel plans go smoothly.

  1. Make sure your passport and visa are up-to-date

In most countries, your passport will be valid six months after the date of your departure. You should renew your passport no less than nine months prior to expiry, the state department recommends.

Check your passport expiry date now, and check the US for renewal if necessary.

Send the passport application six to eight weeks in advance. If you need a passport more quickly, pay an extra fee and in about two to three weeks, you will receive your passport. Private accelerating services can do this faster but charge far higher fees.

Country information from the State Department provides important facts on your destination, such as whether you need a visa and where to go, and other important information about crime, circumstances, medical information, and more.

Find out, if you plan to rent a car or drive to your destination, if an international driver’s license is required or if your US license is enough.

Make a photocopy of your passport details page and your goal visa page(s). Pack it out of your passport separately.

2. Pack appropriately

Don’t bring valuables with you other than the required electronics. Costly jewelry may attract thefts who are experts in tourism targeting. You always take valuables in your cabinet or keep them in safety in the hotel, if you do bring valuables.

Pack an additional pair if you wear a prescription glass.  Always keep  fingerless tactical gloves and small medical kit with you while traveling

To mark each bag using closed baggage tags. Put in and out of your luggage your name, address, and telephone number.

Buy Security Security Locks approved by the administration and always lock your baggage. Be sure you are allowed to carry your locked bags on inland flights; TSA locks can’t be found and can be canceled for inspection. Never put valuables in your checked baggage and make sure that your valuables are still in your handling order after you have passed through the security.

3. Check for health advisories and travel warnings and advisories

Figure out if the US Government has provided travel alerts for countries with long-term problems that can create a dangerous atmosphere for passengers, or for short-term situations that may cause an endangerment for your destination. Many policies do not include travel insurance to countries subject to travel notifications.

A new virus was found in China at the end of 2019 and then propagated to other parts of the world. In the coming year, the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) will continue. Many of the world’s destinations remain unimpacted. However, prior to your next trip, check for current information and travel advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s web site.

4. Get vaccinations and fill prescriptions

To find out health information and vaccination requirements for your destination, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You will collect the required shots 6 weeks before departure for optimum safety. Consult a travel professional if you are going to a country with rampant disease.

The CDC website offers good data about the health risk of drinking water and food, unrestricted packaging items, and other health tips at your destination.

Check the country’s international embassy to or by whether prescription drugs in that country are approved or illegal.

Bring your prescriptions pictures and record the generic drug name separately from your medicine. Pack your medicines always in your carry-on bag, in your prescription bottles. Make sure you have a letter from your doctor if you need to use syringes. Before you go through safety, always declare the syringes.

Pack more than enough medicine to keep your trip long, as your prescription may be hard to fill abroad.

5. Register your trip

One option is for you to register online with the USA, especially when you are traveling outside industrial countries or remote areas. and enter your itinerary. State Department. The U.S. government will know your participation in the country and where to contact you in the event of an emergency. For a fact, your relatives and friends can ask the Department of State to reach you if appropriate if you decide that your travel information should be shared with third parties. It’s free to sign.

A little Effort Goes a Long Way

You as educators know that the best way to prepare yourself is to study. Do your research. Do your research. The more you know of your destination country’s history and customs, the greater your journey will be and will benefit from it. Having you started, here are some examples:

  • If you’re in a conservative country, don’t carry jeans, miniskirts and tank tops.
  • If you go to a place where you often have to take off your shoes to reach tourist destinations, you pack slip-on shoes.
  • Know who and how much to advise.
